REDEMPTION for last year's narrow defeat in the Group 1 Goodwood at Morphettville in May awaits Conservatorium after he claimed his second Group feature of the Perth Summer Carnival in yesterday's A.J. Scahill Stakes (1400m) at Ascot.

South Australia's most travelled racehorse over the past year, Conservatorium was having his 13th start since late November 2012 and his dominant one length win took earnings to $771,900 ($569,000 during that period).

"He's been brilliant,'' co-trainer Lloyd Kennewell said yesterday.

"He's juts done everything that you could ask of him, that's for sure,'' he said.

Conservatorium has been a model of consistency having raced in four different states, while his current campaign is his second WA campaign during that period.

From his 13 starts and at Listed level or higher, the six-year-old has won three races with eight placings, including his a second placing in the Group 1 Goodwood at Morphettville back in May.

"He'll go to the paddock, hopefully he can get a flight home in the next 72 hours and then he'll go to Mill Park and spell towards the end of February,'' Kennewell added.

"He only had five weeks off between campaigns this time, so that will be a good break for him.''

"More than likely we'll give him one run here in Adelaide before the Goodwood.''

The high-class galloper is again set to clock up some frequent flyer points next campaign with a return to Queensland for the Winter Carnival and the Stradbroke Handicap, a race he missed a start in last year, firmly on the agenda.

"I think he'd go similar to last year,'' Kennewell said.

"He'd go to the QTC Cup and he'll get a run in the Stradbroke.''

"Having his fourth run in at the 1400m (of the Stradbroke) would be ideal and where we go from there will obviously depend on hat happens.''

Kennewell said last year's interstate success had been a learning curve for the stable with plans to increase the number heading north this next year.

"Obviously a horse like Rialya would be a chance of going back, he's getting ready for the Adelaide Cup.''

"And a horse like Heart Of A Lion would be another who could progress and be in the mix to go away.''
