MANY MEN UNITED

Where to start with Manchester United? Under-pressure manager David Moyes was spotted in the crowd at this weekend's Serie A game between Juventus and Cagliari - but who was he scouting?

Reports in Italy say the Scot travelled to Sardinia to watch Juve's Arturo Vidal, likely to be involved in a swap deal that would see United striker Nani join the Italian champions, as well as Cagliari defender Davide Astori.

Moyes's right-hand man Phil Neville was also off to sunnier climes, as the first-team coach headed to Spain to check out Spain Under-21 star Saul Niguez - who is also being watch by Chelsea and Arsenal.

We might see Moyes out and about in Europe more often, given the number of players that are said to be on their way out of Old Trafford as he begins a huge rebuild. Defender Patrice Evra is set to leave when his contract runs out in June, according to The Guardian, while Anderson is on his way to Fiorentina, Nani and Wilfried Zaha are off on loan, with Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic - said to be considering a mammoth pay cheque by Galatasaray - Alex Buttner, Shinji Kagawa, Javier Hernandez, Antonio Valencia and Anders Lindegaard all on the way out, truly heralding the end of Alex Ferguson's Manchester United.

CITY'S STUPID MONEY

Across the city, Manchester City are set to sell Joleon Lescott to West Ham - with the Hammers apparently offering the 31-year-old defender a frankly ridiculous $165,000-a-week deal, even though they are staring relegation in the face.

But if you're worried that City's paper-thin squad might give way, fear not - the Daily Mail reckons Manuel Pellegrini is ready to pay Southampton a whopping $55 million for 18-year-old Luke Shaw. We know the leftback is highly rated - but $55m?

MOURINHO'S MIDDLE MEN

Chelsea are ready to let 22-year-old midfielder Kevin de Bruyne go to Bundesliga club Wolfsburg for around $30m - and replace him with Nemanja Matic for $45m, three years after letting him go.

The Benfica midfielder left Stamford Bridge as part of the deal that brought David Luiz in 2009 but now Jose Mourinho believes the 26-year-old Serbian can fill the hole in his team as his defensive midfielder.

The want-away Spaniard could also get his ticket out of England, with a possible switch to European champions Bayern Munich and Pep Guardiola an end-of-season option.

RUMOUR ROUND-UP

Everton are set to miss out on Brazilian midfielder Fernando, with the $27m-rated Porto star ready to sign a pre-contract with AC Milan.

Arsene Wenger has his beady eyes on another up-and-coming England prospect in Nottingham Forest centreback Jamaal Lascelles, with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers also interested. But Forest aren't keen to let their big asset leave as they eye promotion to the Premier League.

Rodgers is also said to have one eye on France midfielder Yann M'Vila, according to Sky Italia, with a loan move leading to a potential permanent deal at the end of the season. But he will have to barge past former Reds boss Rafael Benitez and his big-money offer from Napoli to get the Rubin Kazan star.

West Ham are awaiting confirmation on the transfer of 6ft 8in striker Lacina Traore from Ligue 1's Monaco. Hmm, alongside Andy Carroll, two big men upfront ... Sam Allardyce couldn't be preparing for life in the Championship, could he?
