$100,000 reward offered for missing mother Bronwyn Winfield

Chrystal can still remember the night of May 16, 1993 when, aged 10, she went to bed at her home in Lennox Head - never to see her mother Bronwyn Joy Winfield again.

Yesterday, she joined Police Minister Michael Daley to announce a $100,000 reward in the hope it will help solve the mystery of Ms Winfield's disappearance and presumed murder.

Although the 31-year-old was last seen at home on that night, it wasn't until May 27 that her estranged husband Jonathan reported her missing.

"I went to bed - and that was it," Chrystal said.

"That was the last time I saw her but I have many fond memories and pictures that I carry with me.

"We really want some closure. We just want to know what's happened."

Mr Daley yesterday said he hoped the reward would encourage anyone with information to come forward to help provide some answers.

"(She) was a lovely lady and a good mum," Mr Daley said.

"Ms Winfield's family, particularly her children, deserve to know what happened - and her murderer deserves to be behind bars. I hope that the lure of a cash reward may encourage those with information who may have been reluctant to come forward at the time (to come forward now)."

A 2002 coronial inquest into Ms Winfield's death found she died about the same time as her disappearance. The investigation is led by the Northern Region Unsolved Homicide Team.

Detectives want to speak to any of Ms Winfield's friends and those who may know her movements in the days before her disappearance.

Police said any information could give two girls who woke up without a mother the answers they need.
