You and Margot Robbie are never, ever getting together

Any one harbouring secret, or not-so-secret, delusions that they may have had a chance with Hollywood star Margot Robbie — we need to talk.

Any men (or women) harbouring secret or not-so-secret delusions that they may have had a chance with probably the most desired woman in the world, Margot Robbie, we need to talk.

Take a seat.

First of all, Robbie has loved having you admire her acting career, effortless charm in press appearances, incredible face and unbelievable body in raunchy outfits.

It’s been flattering.

You’re great guys. Honestly, you’re great as fans.

Every one of you guys will surely each make a woman very happy one day.

That woman, however — and this is what we need to talk about — is not going to be Robbie.

This week, Robbie chose another man over you. This week, she married handsome and successful film director Tom Ackerley.

You know, someone who, unlike you, she’d actually met before. Someone who has had more interaction with her than just breathing heavily down the neck of the stranger sitting in front of them at the cinema every time that she appears on screen during a movie. Someone more on her level.

She and Ackerley threw a wedding ceremony on Monday in the Byron Bay hinterland, where she made a big to-do in front of friends and family about how much she loves him and adores him and is devoted to him. She didn’t mention you once.

She kind of alluded to you, arguably, when she no doubt vowed at the altar to never ever romantically touch or look or think about other men, including you, but that was it.

Any chances with Robbie, which you may have fooled yourself into believing you had, are over.

You know that vague feeling you’ve had in the past of being disgusted, even insulted, when a woman who in your mind doesn’t live up to the standard of Robbie still thinks she’s good enough for a relationship with you?

That’s the feeling Robbie has at the thought of you thinking you’re good enough for a relationship with her.

She’s not interested. She doesn’t want you. She can’t be clearer about that, and you need to move on.

You’ll be fine.

You’ll survive.

You just might want to reconsider pushing away women who once disgusted and insulted you by thinking themselves your equal.

You might even want to consider settling for dating a woman with a credible face and a believable body who doesn’t have a movie-acting career or has never even been asked to do press appearances let alone appeared effortlessly charming while doing them.

We all have visions for how we’d wished our life would turn out.

Sometimes, though, we just have to accept disappointment and set more realistic expectations for ourselves.

You’ve delusionally been holding out for some imagined future in a bizarre parallel universe where you were, somehow, not only too good for all the women you came into contact with in your daily existence but also good enough for probably the most desired woman in the world, Robbie.

That doesn’t make you a bad person.

As we discussed at the start of this talk, you’re great guys.

Hopefully, you and Robbie can still remain friends.

Well, not friends. You were never friends. The best you can hope for is to remain fans.

Hopefully, you can still remain a fan of hers as she begins a life of wedded bliss with a man other than you.
