Kanye West: still a misogynistic dirtbag
Is there no end to Kanye West’s ego? The man who calls himself Yeezus (as in Jesus, but cooler), thinks it’s his “creative right” to be a misogynistic douche. Won’t someone please shut him up?
I know Kanye West will never read this. Aside from the fact that he has his head so far up his rectum to acknowledge any criticism levied his way, he only follows his own wife on Instagram and Twitter. Pity Kim Kardashian who has to stroke his ego.
The man who goes by the name Yeezus (as in Jesus, but cooler), thinks it’s his “creative right” to be a misogynistic douche. His punching bag once again is none other than singer Taylor Swift.
We had reluctantly forgiven him for crashing her Best Female Video acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Awards. His cringeworthy rant: “Imma let you finish”, was humiliating for all involved — except for West, who seems to think he did Swift a favour.
Despite Swift being a music phenom and poster girl for the sisterhood, West in his delusional state seems to think he’s owed some love for her meteoric rise on the world stage.
He streamed his new album, The Life of Pablo, during his fashion show Yeezy Season 3 at Madison Square Garden on Thursday. Some of his lyrics attracted attention:
“For all my Southern n****** who will know me best/I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why, I made that bitch famous/God damn/I made that bitch famous.”
Wow. Don’t know who should be more outraged, his wife or Swift?
Slammed for being a dirtbag, West hit back in a lengthy Twitter rant, suggesting both his wife and ex-nemesis/back-on-again nemesis had given approval for the song lyrics.
His wife has remained surprisingly quiet on the issue. Surprising only because her every move is documented for the cameras or on numerous on social media accounts, including her own app.
Team Swift has not been so coy, with the singer’s camp confirming that she did not approve those lyrics.
As for West, well there was no keeping him quiet; he then tweeted that Swift should be grateful for the public humiliation once again because, after all, he made her famous. #FACT
Hey Kayne, here are some #FACTS. Aside from the fact that Swift made it big on her own merit (you were just a nuisance on her way up), you don’t get to degrade someone because it conveniently works into your rap.
Vogue doyenne Anna Wintour turned up to your fashion show. The entire Kardashian clan worked the media in your clothes. You didn’t need to flash your crass to get attention or headlines.
Here’s another #FACT. If you’ve no respect for your wife or other women in the music industry, show some restraint for your daughter. Not old enough to really understand what her daddy does for a living as of yet, the only lesson she’ll ever need from you is how to be strong, poised and well-adjusted.
So far, you’re doing a rubbish job of showing her that she (or any other girl/woman) should not have to bow down and accept whatever sexist bullshit is thrown their way.
Swift’s brother perhaps summed up sentiment for West right now when he dumped his sought-after Yeezy 350 sneakers in the bin. No point holding onto something that reeks of disrespect.
