Top Agents: Townsville’s best sellers revealed
These Townsville property dealers can now lay claim to being the best in the business with an exclusive ranking of real estate agents revealing who has the top median sold price in town.

These Townsville property dealers can now lay claim to being the best in the business with an inaugural ranking of real estate agents by realestate.com.au revealing who has the top median sold price in town.
Janice Gallagher, the principal of Janice Gallagher Real Estate, took out the top spot with a median sold price of $819,000 based on results declared on realestate.com.au over the year to March and excluding off market and private sales.
That is almost $172,000 ahead of her nearest competitor.
Ms Gallagher is a veteran of the Townsville property game and specialises in the luxury Castle Hill and bayside markets.
She has been responsible for some of Townsville’s most expensive home sales, including 48 Victoria Street, North Ward, which sold for $4.5 million in June 2022.
Coming in at number two was Ben Waugh, of Ray White Townsville, with a median sold price of $647,094.
Mr Waugh was raised on a cattle farm in New South Wales and left behind a 20-year career in the oil and gas industry to pursue his passion for property.

He has a strong focus on rural real estate, selling both land and established properties.
Third place was taken out by Sally Elliott, principal of Smith and Elliott Real Estate, who achieved an average sold price of $643,800.
Ms Elliott established her agency more than 20 years ago and has a wealth of experience selling property in Townsville.
One of her biggest sales in the past year was 14 Kennedy St, North Ward, which sold for $1.45 million in February, 2023.
With a median sold price of $642,453, Martin McDonough, of M Property Townsville, was ranked fourth in the region.
Starting off in sales for Coca Cola Amatil as an 18-year-old, Mr McDonough eventually found his way into real estate.
He has more than 15 years of experience selling property and one of his biggest recent sales was 29 Britomart St, Bushland Beach, which sold for $2.65 million.
Rounding out the top five was Abigail Fairbanks, of Cutting Edge Property, with a median sold price of $615,917.
A fairly newcomer to the real estate scene, Ms Fairbanks embraced social media and regularly appeared in entertaining property videos to showcase her listings.
Her high average sold price was achieved through a mix of rural and suburban sales, including 45 Goicoechea Drive, Bushland Beach, which achieved $1.137 in December, 2022.
