Stylish Sydney couple Tim Robards and wife Anna Heinrich are moving on from their Rose Bay home, intent on upsizing aided by cashing in on their Queensland investment portfolio.
The move from an apartment to a house follows the couple having their first daughter Elle, in November last year. The apartment’s marketing shows Elle gets her own bedroom complete with a ‘Baby Robards’ neon sign hung on the wall.
There’s no clue yet on where to next for the couple, who have been together since Robards gave Heinrich the final rose in the first series of the Channel 10 show The Bachelor in 2013.
They married in 2018, and bought the apartment a few months after for $1.9 million.
Since then there’s been little renovation of the 137sqm, three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in a boutique 1930s block of six.
It had been extensively renovated prior to the Robards’ purchase, after its $1.06 million sale in 2012. It retained Art Deco features, including a curved fireplace in the lounge room which has harbour views.
Ray White Paddington agents Josh Kalocsay and Augusto Gerocarni have the December 7 auction listing.
Its purchase came after Robards offloaded his former Newcastle home, in Charlestown, for $420,000. It had been a longtime investment after he moved to Sydney, bringing in around $370 a week. He had been a chiropractor in Newcastle before being named The Bachelor in its first Australian series.
Robards, now the Robards Method, 721 Nutritional Diet fitness app company founder, and Heinrich are also selling their jointly owned Queensland investment property.
They bought the Murarrie, Brisbane townhouse shortly before it was completed in 2016, paying $630,000 for the contemporary property in the Portavilla boutique development by Azure.
Place Estate Agents agent Courtney Caulfield was looking for buyers in the $700,000s. She says it could bring in a $600-a-week tenant, having been offered last November at $590 a week.
An offer to buy has come quickly, but yet to go unconditional.
Tim retains another Queensland investment property: a four-bedroom townhouse in the Vogue complex at Aspley, which is a $480-a-week rental. The townhouse cost $452,500 in 2016. Heinrich retains a Queensland investment bought in 2016 at Richlands that cost $362,000.
PRE-POST UNIT SALE
Popular Network 10 horse racing presenter Francesca Cumani, and her former husband, polo-playing star Rob Archibald, secured an auction eve sale of their Randwick apartment.
Ray White agents Randall Kemp and Lisa Chadd had no sale price disclosure, but it is understood to have sold for around $3.1 million.
The sale negotiations came as Cumani jetted off to San Diego for the Breeders Cup’, where she will appear on the ITV UK coverage.
The apartment had been bought as their city bolthole for $2.48 million in 2016 when the couple, who have a four year old son, were based in Scone.
The penthouse in the award-winning Pindari complex was marketed as having house-like proportions with designer interiors.
The 290sqm apartment features a full-width entertainer’s balcony against a private treetop backdrop, accessed off the open-plan kitchen, living and dining area. The accommodation wing has three bedrooms, all with full-width balcony space.
The apartment became a $1900-a-week rental in 2017, which eased to $1550 during the early stages of the pandemic.
Cumani, who was born in the UK, has had to appear on the Victorian Racing Club Spring Carnival via Zoom for the past two years.
She is the daughter of acclaimed Italian-born horse trainer Luca Cumani, and sister of trainer Matt Cumani, who is based in Ballarat.
LOTS OF NEWS ON THE HOME FRONT
Newsreader Natarsha Belling and her husband Glen Sealey, head of Renault Australia, have sold at Lane Cove North, after buying in Longueville.
The couple are upgrading to a five-bedroom house with pool that cost $6.1 million.
Their three-bedroom, one-bathroom Coolaroo Road home sold just two weeks into its Belle Property marketing for $3.42 million. The house had been their home since paying $731,000 in 2002.
Belling worked at Network 10 until being made redundant in August 2020. She was not out of work for long, joining Southern Cross Austereo’s new digital breakfast radio show hosted by Melbourne-based broadcaster Steve Price.
It has been a busy time on the newsreader property front.
The $15 million Hunters Hill estate of TV anchor Ann Sanders and her husband Andrew Strokon has hit the market, with the couple planning to downsize locally. Newsreader Peter Overton and Jessica Rowe upgraded recently in Vaucluse, selling for $8.175 million and buying for around $11 million.
The custom-built Middle Cove home of late newsreader Brian Henderson has been listed by his widow, Mardi with price expectations of $12.5 million through Christie’s International.
The home to Australia’s longest-serving newsreader, it is expected to break the Middle Cove record.
MOVERS AND SHAKERS AT CADIGAL
It has been a busy time in the Cadigal complex on Bondi Beach.
And now millionaire pub heir Phillip de Angelis, who has appeared before NSW courts multiple times during the past two years, has listed his apartment following his $9 million purchase of a deep waterfront at Hunters Hill.
His Cadigal apartment on Campbell Pde, bought for $4.1 million in 2016, has been listed through Alexander Phillips at PPD.
The sale of the Cadigal penthouse of Valerie Corrigan, wife of former Patrick Stevedores tycoon Chris Corrigan, kicked off the year, fetching $12.45 million when bought by the dental technician Thomas Deutsch and his wife Christine, the parents of F45 gym chain founder Rob Deutsch.
The Corrigans’ 343sqm penthouse wasn’t enough for the Deutsch family, who then spent $6.85 million to buy their neighbour’s 190sqm apartment.
The Bellevue Hill Lewis family, buyers of the $7.25 million apartment of former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke in early 2020, have also expanded their holdings adding the adjoining $2.35 million space.
The most recent buyer in the block, which was once the Bondi Diggers Club, was Michalle Smith, who paid $3.75 million.
MUSOS MOVE TO MITTAGONG
Having sold their Berrima home for $2.35 million, singer Mahalia Barnes and her musician husband Ben Rogers look set to build their next home at Mittagong.
They’ve spent $1.6 million on a 7930sqm Range Rd building block, no doubt with plans for the build to include their own recording studio.
With just a few tall established trees, the block was marketed as a rare opportunity.
It was only on the market by the Mackie family for 10 days before it was snapped up.
Barnes and Rogers bought their Berrima home in 2017 for $960,000, after leaving their Redfern warehouse conversion apartment, which they sold for $1.4 million, complete with recording studio.
They renovated the weatherboard Berrima homestead with a new kitchen and bathrooms, and turned the cottage into a recording studio.
TOMATO PATCH TO TOWNHOUSE
Western Sydney advocate David Borger has listed his North Parramatta investment through Sandra Aquilina of McGrath.
Set for November 20 auction with a $1.3 million to $1.4 million price guide, it is within walking distance of Parramatta CBD.
The four-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouse on Abbey Lane was constructed by Borger behind his then-home seven years ago.
“The site used to be our tomato patch and we had a shed there,” Borger recalled.
Committed to the precinct, the Business Western Sydney boss, and former Lord Mayor of Parramatta City Council, subsequently built a new home around the corner.
The townhouse offering features a private courtyard.
The listing attracted an impressive 2500 views on realestate.com.au after just two weeks on the market.
North Parramatta has a $630,000 apartment median and a $1.27 million median for its houses.
HIGH BAR AT DUFFYS
A world-class equestrian property in Duffys Forest has just sold for a rumoured $14.375 million, a record for a 2ha northern beaches acreage.
It was a resale by Clarke & Humel Property of the estate that Ray and Julie Balcomb spent a decade developing on Wyong Rd.
They sold for $10.25 million in early 2018 and it resold at $10.6 million in late 2019.
The residence comes with resort-style alfresco entertaining areas, custom-designed BMX track, and a state-of-the-art stable complex, including seven stalls and yards.
