BRISBANE power couple Thessy and Georgio Batsinilas have finally moved into their Greek-inspired dream home in the very suburb where fashion label to the stars, Sabo Skirt, was born. The co-founder of the successful label worn by celebrities, and her husband, who is the co-owner of gym and online fitness business, FitazFk, spent almost three years designing and building the home in the unassuming suburb of Holland Park West.
“I wake up every day and have to blink a few times because it feels like a dream,” Ms Batsinilas said.
“To be looking at renders for two to three years to now living in that render is just such a weird feeling. I’m so appreciative we get to live here.”
The couple, who have two children — Zani, 5 and Jay, 2, bought the property at auction in 2019 for $1.14m.
It was a “full circle” moment for Ms Batsinilas, who had previously lived in the same suburb in her early 20s.
“We actually started Sabo (Skirt) in the suburb,” she said.
“I had driven past my future property so many times and been blissfully unaware.”

They demolished the existing house on the site before enlisting Esat Design with the design and Batspac with the build of the modern, Mediterranean-style home.
Ms Batsinilas, also known as Thessy K, documented the build of the home, named Grece, on social media.
The elevated 600 sqm block is in one of the suburb’s most prestigious streets, offering spectacular city views.
Think sleek curves and dramatic archways, rustic timber, white render, travertine, and lots of natural light.
“We go to Greece every year but we had to make a conscious decision not to make a traditional Greek home and bring in that urban architecture as we live in Brisbane,” she said.
The living spaces are minimal and contemporary, and envelope a small courtyard paved in cobblestones, surrounding a central olive tree and framed by arches to create a textural aesthetic.
The outdoor entertaining space features layered, monolithic steps and serves as a kind of ‘social amphitheatre’.
Other features include a green mosaic-tiled pool, a statement entrance tunnel, and a ‘wellness centre’ including a sauna and a cold plunge pool.
“I am personally obsessed with the courtyard and the main bedroom which is my oasis,” she said.
But the house isn’t just for living — Ms Batsinilas said it was designed as the perfect backdrop with plans to hire it out as a photoshoot location.
“We wanted to be able to have the flexibility to shoot in the space,” she said.
“We have a purpose-built shoot area and we thought about the light at all times of the day so you can shoot here at any time.”
