A total of 12 new beach homes on the south coast are up for grabs at a popular caravan park, with the park describing the deal as “a fraction of the usual cost”.
Selling from $450,000, the homes located at Ingenia Holidays Merry Beach, south of Bawley Point, are a “limited range” of two and three-bedroom beach homes.
The park’s general manager for tourism, Matthew Young, said while the homes offered “uninterrupted water views and room for more than six guests”, they remained affordable to investors.
“Merry Beach is the perfect weekend escape for those looking to get out of Sydney and Canberra and enjoy a small coastal town getaway,” he said.
According to Mr Young, the two-bedroom homes can be purchased for approximately 17 per cent of the price of a private two-bedroom, one-bathroom home in the same region.
“These new beach houses truly punch above their weight in terms of offering the perfect holiday home for an entry-level price in an area that offers a summer haven or winter playground,” he said.
Six of the 12 homes have been constructed, with the final six to be available for purchase by July 2023.
Plans for the cluster of homes are available online, showcasing the floor plans and sizes.
The homes are mainly made from timber, featuring a balcony looking over the ocean and parking space sitting under the structures, which sit up on multiple pillars.
However, the homes are exclusively holiday houses and cannot be lived in permanently according to a spokesperson.
“Since it’s a holiday park, there are rules around how long you can stay in a dwelling,” they said.
“You will be able to stay in one of the beach homes for 250 days each year.”
