Kmart has given a sneak peek into the latest home bargains being served up as part of its February Living range, with $8 quilt covers and $3.50 dinnerware just some of the jaw-dropping prices on show.
As cost of living pressures continue to bite more than three-quarters of Australians, the ability to buy trending items without breaking the bank is sure to be appreciated by those wanting to refresh their homes in 2024.
Canstar research shows 76 per cent of Aussies felt no cost of living relief over the past year while the average worker would have needed a $4000 pay rise just to keep pace with rising prices.
Kmart divisional merchandise manager – Home, Meryn Serong, said Kmart was driven to support Australians through these difficult times by providing “the strongest value across key, essential items,” while delivering the latest trends in home design.
“We have newness across all rooms of the home with exceptional value in $5 candles, $8 printed quilt covers, $3.50 dinnerware and $10 baskets in an array of trending styles,” Serong said.
The latest items to hit the shelves included wave silhouettes across decor, furniture, textiles and dining. Shoppers should also look out for the new check and gingham designs as well as neutral shade fabrications and painted ceramics.
“Some of our favourite new trends include; layering neutrals with interesting details such as wave edges and textured finishes and the arch detail that are making their way into new functional pieces such as the bookcases, storage cabinets and storage mirrors,” Serong said.
Kmart influencer Helen James of i_heart_kmart said she loved the detail and versatility on offer.
“I’m loving all the faux flowers, they have come a long way over the years!” she said. “Super realistic now – and best thing is I can’t kill them!
“You can’t go past the neutral textured cushions, they are easy to style and bring warmth to the space. I also love the new lamp range, where little pops of colour in the base add interest to a room.”
Bouclé remained a popular item with customers – and one of Serong’s favourites
“In 2024 we’re offering customers exceptional value through trending high pile fabrications and plush materials, a great example of which are our bouclé quilt covers and soft furnishings,” she said. “The new Boucle Swivel Chair, Boucle Wave Bench and Boucle Quilt Cover Sets demonstrate the versatility and longevity of the fabrication.
“Another fabrication favourite is the Gingham Quilt Cover Set – a modern nod to nostalgia and a great way to test this trend in your home.”
