First homebuyer Nikki Zbrankova, 34 of 5/15 Eskgrove Street, East Brisbane said she was happy with her purchase and buying in the area came as an accident.

“I was looking around five to six kilometres around the city, I was looking for something nice, small and not too big, especially in my price range”, Ms Zbrankova said.

“This apartment just ticks my boxes, it’s got a balcony as well as a garage.

“It’s only one bedroom but it is very spacious with a full kitchen which is rare to find.

“The Kangaroo Point green bridge is also being added, it will make it much easier to get to the CBD.

“My friend reckons the unit is a sleeping giant, the price was very affordable.
“Before I was renting in New Farm, I was very lucky as it was very straight forward dealing with the landlord.”

“We’ve gone back to how things used to be and with the interest rates increasing, the unit/townhouse market is driving the entry level first home buyers.

“It’s the stock agents want to list, an inspection for a two-bedroom unit, I’m seeing about 60 groups in it.

Ms Elvin said she was very confident in the Brisbane property market as it stands.

“There are lots of buyers, and not a lot of stock

“A lot of our homeowners are deciding not to sell they’ve got the Olympics, and getting a strong rental return.

“Sellers are sitting and watching their asset grow, so we don’t have the stock to service our buyers.”
