WESTERN Sydney Wanderers broke the all-time Australian national league record after securing their 10th consecutive win in beating Melbourne Heart 3-1 on Saturday.
Victory over Sydney FC this Saturday will clinch the A-League premier's plate for the Wanderers.
Against the Heart, striker Labinot Haliti scored a brace before Iacopo La Rocca finished with a great individual goal.
Despite the win, coach Tony Popovic has warned his players to not get complacent with the Sydney derby this weekend.
"It is another great milestone for our football club," Popovic said.
"It takes a special effort from everyone involved to get 10 straight wins.
"It is good to have a derby coming up and it will be a special occasion at Parramatta Stadium and that is our focus now."
The match is already a sellout.
Popovic is hoping Haliti can continue his good run of form.
"He has always been a player that gets on the end of things and gets opportunities in games," Popovic said.
"Last week (against Wellington Phoenix) he could have scored a hat-trick. It is great to see him back it up this weekend and get a couple of goals."
