Western Sydney Wanderer fans look to next year's A-League season after losing to the Central Coast Mariners
WESTERN Sydney Wanderers fans are looking towards success next year following their side's 2-0 loss to the Central Coast Mariners
WESTERN Sydney Wanderers fans were already looking towards success in next summer's A-League following their side's 2-0 loss to the Central Coast Mariners on Sunday.
The Wanderers supporters dominated the sold out Sydney Football Stadium with a sea of red and black hoping for the fairy tale finish to their debut season.
The legions of the Red and Black Bloc (RBB) Wanderers supporters group kept singing and chanting throughout the match despite not having much to sign for in the dying stages.
The Wanderers hadn't lost a game in three months heading into their first grand final but weren't able to match the clinical execution of the Mariners who won their first title in four attempts.
The RBB may have some competition next season with a trio of Blacktown friends coming to the match as "Wander Women" complete with red capes and hats.
Kings Langley's Courtney King made the outfits and wanted to "spread the word" ahead of the 2013-14 season.
Toongabbie Bronwyn O'Brien' said the "Wander Women" would be out in force next season.
"We will wear them all next year. It's the female RBB," she said.
She said while it was disappointing to watch the Wanderers go down she was "absolutely stoked" the team made the grand final.
Most Wanderers fans stayed for the post-match presentation to watch their dejected players accept their runners-up silverware.
"The amount of western Sydney fans that stayed is testament to the love we have for the team and the community we have," Ms O'Brien said.
"It's been an amazing season and I am ready for next year."
