MONTHS of training paid off for the Sydney Gymnastic Academy team that won 11 medals at the Aloha Gymfest in Hawaii.

The 24-member team from the Seven Hills club took home six gold medals and five silver medals in the all-round age categories during the 37th annual three day event last month.

Breanna Hale, Emily Bennett, Lilly-Ann Keating, Jessica Rynne, Julia Vlahogiannis and Tatum Marquart won gold in their individual vault, beam, bars and floor routines.

Scores in those four apparatuses were accumulated to decide their all-round rankings.

The event included gymnasts from the US, Canada, Japan and New Zealand.

"I was so proud of the girls, they did excellently and did the club proud," coach Skye Sinclair said.

"A lot of work went into getting the girls to that level. The top level girls put in about 17 hours of work each week."

The team comprised gymnasts from across Sydney, including Prospect sisters Brittany and Gabrielle Dolphin, Kings Langley's Hailee Jarrett and Toongabbie's Quinn Sirianni.

Jessica Stanton, 15, of Greystanes, was the club's standout performer with gold in her overall age category, finishing first in the floor routine and second in vault and bars.

The team trained for two days before competition and spent the final three days travelling around Hawaii.

The club at Artisan Rd is looking for new members of all ages.
