WEST City Crusaders open men's team is still celebrating after its Futsal Super League championship on Saturday.
The Crusaders defeated Raiders Futsal Club 4-3 in overtime after a tight contest.
The victory gave them their second piece of silverware of the season after winning the minor premiership.
Captain Benjamin Lam said the team was hungry for success after falling at the final hurdle last season.
"Last year we made the grand final but were defeated which was quite disappointing," he said.
"All of us live in the Penrith and Mt Druitt area, which makes it even more special to win this and represent our area.
"We also were runners-up in the state championships this year, so to finally get some silverware was great."
David McMurry was the hero on the day, scoring a hat-trick, with Shayne Ardle also getting on the scoresheet.
Lam is now hoping the team can stick together for years to come.
"We plan to keep our squad together for next season and go back to back," he said. "We worked hard this year and deserve the accolades."
