The Kings Langley-raised A-League star has returned to where it all began after he inked a two-year deal to play with the Western Sydney Wanderers.

Despite being only 27, Jamieson has become one of the most experienced defenders in the A-League, racking up 153 starts with four clubs since returning from a two-year stint in England with Bolton Wanderers.

The left back has recently moved into his Westmead apartment after living with his parents at Kings Langley and enjoys being back in familiar territory.

“It is really nice to be around family and friends,” he said.

“Having grown up in western Sydney, I played all my juniors at Kings Langley and then moving to Blacktown City FC before going to England. I know all about the football culture out there.

“The Wanderers are a special club and when the opportunity came up for me to return to my home town and play for the club I jumped at the chance.

“Western Sydney is a proud region, not just in football, and to represent the region is special.”

While it has been a tough start to the season for Western Sydney, Jamieson said nobody should write his new team off yet.

“We’ve been a bit unlucky with results so far but everyone is working really hard at training and I’m confident once we find our form we will be a tough team to beat,” he said. “Our supporters are the best in the league and all the players are determined to give them performances to be proud of.”

Wanderers coach Tony Popovic had seen Jamieson’s talents first hand when they worked together during their time at Sydney FC.

The former Kings Langley Public School student’s admiration for the young coach played a big part in bringing Jamieson home.

“I worked with Tony Popovic for a short time while we were both at Sydney FC and he spoke highly about the club and getting to work with him was a big factor in my decision due,” he said.
