History was made in Penrith on Sunday when the Penrith Women’s first grade cricket team played their first ever home game at Howell Oval.
The day that celebrated women’s cricket in the area included a T20 Double Header with the women’s second grade playing in the morning, followed by first grade.
Before the match the First XI were presented with their “Baggy Blacks”.
“It was wonderful to finally see all the hopes of many come to fruition as the first grade girls took to their ‘home’ field for the first time,” women’s team co-ordinator Kim Hinkley said.
