BLACKTOWN City will contend for the title of Australia’s best state league side after qualifying for the National Premier League’s Grand Final.

A 2-1 victory against Queensland champions Moreton Bay United at Lily’s Football Centre, Seven Hills, last Saturday secured Blacktown’s ticket to the decider.

The match will be held in Perth on Saturday night against West Australian champions Bayswater SC.

A goal from Moreton Bay in Blacktown’s net, and a clinical finish from Travis Major, provided the home side with an early 2-0 lead in the semi-final.

And a dominant midfield performance allowed the home side to stay on top.
