SEVERAL Penrith Panthers players will get the chance to impress coach Ivan Cleary when they face the New Zealand Warriors in a trial match at Waikato Stadium, Hamilton, tomorrow.
Cleary named a strong 24-man squad.
Five-eight Lachlan Coote, who was a late inclusion in last week's 34-32 win over the Wests Tigers, said he was looking forward to taking the field.
"Ivan asked me to step in (last week) and I was happy I did it because I was quite nervous before the game," Coote said.
"It was good to get those nerves and the first game out of the way and now I am looking forward to this weekend.
"It should be a good showing from the boys as the team is pretty much the top 25 NRL players in the club.
"It should be a good test against the Warriors."
Recruit Lewis Brown will take on his former Warriors team mates for the first time.
Coote said he was excited about coming up playing against former Panther Harry Siejka and coach Matthew Elliott.
"I've been messaging Harry a bit about playing against him," Coote said.
"It is going to be weird coming up against Matty Elliott for the first time."
