JOSH Mansour is eager to continue his impressive form in the Penrith Panthers' opening NRL match against the Canberra Raiders on Sunday.

The winger extended his deal at the Panthers for the 2014 season on Tuesday.

After a fantastic debut season for Penrith, Mansour cannot wait to continue his form.

"I am very happy to sign an extension with the club - they gave me my shot in the NRL and I want to repay the faith," he said.

"I purely spoke to Penrith only (not other clubs) about signing as I am happy at the club and I see it moving in the right direction.

"I know a lot of people talk about second-year syndrome for players but I don't believe in that. My focus is on improving myself and proving that I deserve to be in the squad each week."

The former South Sydney Rabbitohs junior will have a different centre inside him after the departure of Michael Jennings to the Roosters.

"I will need to work a combination with the new centre, whether it be Brad Tighe or Wes Naiqama on my side," he said.

"(Second rower) Lewis Brown will also be on the same side and I know he will be a big help. He set me up for a good try against the Warriors in the trial.

"Canberra is a good team with a big forward pack but we will focus on our own game plan."
