RIPPLES St Marys Swimming Club has again proved itself as a hotbed for developing swimming talent.

The club returned with a swag of medals from the 2013 NSW Metropolitan Championships held earlier this month at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.

Nathan Robinson, 13, was the club's standout swimmer, taking three gold medals for the 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly and 400m freestyle. He also collected two bronze medals and set a metro record for his 200m butterfly swim with a time of 2min 16.93sec.

Nathan credits his success to an intense training regime up to six days a week, morning and night.

"I felt very happy in myself and how hard I was working over the months to get where I did," he said.

"I was expecting to go really well because I was top three in each race."

Nathan, who is now focused on April's national championships, wants to one day represent Australia at the Olympic Games.
