JAMES Te Huna has been given a golden chance to press his claim for a UFC title fight after being called in as a late replacement to face Glover Teixeira at UFC 160 in Las Vegas.
Te Huna, 31, of South Penrith, will face the No.4-ranked Brazilian light heavyweight fighter on May 25 after Ryan Bader pulled out injured.
A win would catapult Te Huna to the height of the light heavyweight division.
But Te Huna said his opponent is a "dangerous man" after several fighters have turned him down.
"I wanted a big challenge and now I have been given the opportunity," Te Huna said.
"I'm confident, I've got momentum going into the fight having won my last four and I have no injuries."
Te Huna, who agreed to a new contract with the UFC recently, is excited to be on the biggest card of the year. Last year's event had almost one million pay-per-view buys.
"This could be my big fight. Win or lose I'll be in a great position," he said.
