Jodie Donegan, 45, from Orchard Hills, and Justin Caunter, 31, from Glenmore Park, faced Waverley Local Court on Tuesday, where they pleaded guilty to supplying drugs and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

Caunter also pleaded guilty to having custody of a knife in a public place.

The duo were sprung outside the Royal Hotel in Bondi on December 7, as part of a NSW Police crackdown branded Strike Force Northrop targeting dial-a-dealer operations across Sydney.

Court documents state Caunter and Donegan were operating as a “joint criminal enterprise” outside the Royal Hotel in Bondi, when police followed one of their prospective customers to the pair’s Holden Commodore about 6pm.

After observing the man quickly enter and exit the couple’s vehicle and “place an object in his back pocket”, police quickly formed the suspicion a drug deal had just taken place, agreed facts state.

Five minutes later officers approached Caunter and Donegan in their car and produced a search warrant.

Caunter was observed as having “an irregular bulge in his pants” which was soon revealed to be 24 small resealable bags of cocaine, totalling 24.5g.

A subsequent search of the car uncovered $3450 in the glovebox plus a flip knife with a 15cm blade, which Saunter said he “needed for work”, however agreed facts state “he was not working at the time of detection”.

The pair were then taken to Waverley Police Station and charged.

On Tuesday, a defence solicitor requested a seven week adjournment to allow both Caunter and Donegan to receive a sentencing assessment report.

They will return to Waverley Local Court on February 25.
