The man behind a successful gym chain has revealed plans to expand his empire, with a vision to add 400 stores across the globe by 2025, as his first new location is launched in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
The Yard Gym founder Daniel Bova opened the latest branch of his global chain in Double Bay on February 3, alongside franchise co-owners Rebecca Cutler, Mike Case and Talitha Case.
Mr Bova revealed the Double Bay location was the latest of 70 new franchise locations already sold as part of his nationwide plan to open 200 new sites in Australia and a further 200 in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, New Zealand and Asia.
Mr Bova said the Double Bay store had “an incredible start”, with limited memberships remaining.
“The Double Bay studio opened with over 200 members active on day one,” Mr Bova said.
The Yard Gym Double Bay franchise co-owner Rebecca Cutler said they wanted to provide a unique offering, member-centric philosophy, community engagement and quality to Sydney’s east.
“There is nothing on the market that comes close in terms of group training offerings,” Ms Cutler said.
“From the gold standard of programming, the number of extra services offered right through to the luxury Boutique gym aesthetic, no stone has been left unturned with The Yard Double Bay.
“We have been able to shape and build a beautiful space specifically for the community – we provide towels, fresh fruit daily, lemon water, and a stretch lab.”
The gym also provides a crèche service available during the 9:30am weekday classes, allowing parents to exercise while their children are supervised.
The gym offers more than 40 classes, which cater to all fitness levels and age groups, and is open seven days a week.
Mr Bova said The Yard originated from his backyard training sessions over a decade ago, where he ignited a passion for fitness among friends and acquaintances.
He has two sites open and operating in the US and is planning for more.
