A man has died after falling off a boat in Sydney Harbour, near Vaucluse.

Heavy rainfall and flood warnings continue across NSW

A man has died after falling off a boat into waters in Sydney Harbour near Neilson Park, Vaucluse.

About 1.30pm on Sunday, emergency services responded to reports a man had fallen off a boat.

Police said the man was retrieved by officers attached to Marine Area Command and taken to shore where he treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however died at the scene.

The man is yet to be formally identified, however he is believed to be aged in his 60s.

An 18-year-old man on board the vessel at the time was uninjured and returned to shore.

NSW Police said in a statement inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident have commenced and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
