He has yet to enter a formal plea.

Appearing on his behalf was solicitor John Sutton who sought an adjournment stating some of the abuse material allegedly found required “further analysis”.

“The issue was with quantity and categorisation, the officer in charge referred to ‘multiple images’, so I will attend Waverley police station and I will sit with the officer in charge and work out the quantity and categorisation,” Mr Sutton said

“It’s unsatisfactory but there’s no other option, I literally have some statements from forensic officers who say some images on here require further analysis.

“I can’t formalise a plea for you but I can tell you I sat in front of Magistrate Barko, on the day of the bail application on the day of the warrant … it’s not a question of guilty it's a question of quantity and categorisation.”

Mr Sutton said “hopefully” a formal plea could be entered on the next occasion, stating he anticipated a “long sentencing” with two psychologists to give evidence.

Mr Sutton also said he anticipated one of the charges would be withdrawn on the next occasion.

Mohat’s matters will return to the Downing Centre Local Court for mention on May 13.
