Police have seized 196 cannabis plants and 25kg of cannabis leaf, allegedly found in the attic and bedrooms of a Darlinghurst home.

A 51-year-old man will front court after police allegedly located a cannabis ‘growers’ set up at a home in Sydney’s inner city suburb of Darlinghurst on Wednesday.

The drug bust was part of Kings Cross Proactive Crime Team investigation into the cultivation of cannabis in the area.

A search warrant was executed at a home on Forbes St, Darlinghurst, about 8.30am.

Police allegedly located a hydroponic set up with 196 cannabis plants and approximately 25kgs of cannabis leaf, allegedly in the bedrooms and attic.

A 51-year-old man was arrested and taken to Kings Cross Police Station where he was charged with cultivate cannabis (indictable quantity), supply cannabis (indictable quantity) and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear in Central Local Court on Thursday.
