Eight buildings in Sydney’s eastern suburb are set to be demolished to make way for an expansive $35 million apartment complex.
Developers revealed plans to Waverley Council for a four-story apartment complex in Vaucluse at the corner of Old South Head Road and Oceanview Ave.
The developers of the project said they would be demolishing “seven dwellings and one mixed-use building”, which would be replaced by 31 independent units as part of two four-storey residential buildings at the site.
Planners for the project said it would include a community lounge, indoor and outdoor dining and kitchen areas, a gym, cinema, wine room, co-working space, library, and a garden.
The development earmarks a total of 15 two- and, 12 three-bedroom units, as well as four four-bedroom units.
The developer said the proposal “delivers additional housing to meet the needs of an ageing population”.
On-site management and services would be in place to help the residents living in the building.
“[Their] responsibilities will include the day-to-day management of the building, including cleaning, maintenance and security of the building,” the developer said.
