Two women and a man have been arrested and charged over the alleged theft of a flag from Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
On Christmas Day, two vehicles stopped outside a building on New South Head Rd in Double Bay, before the occupants got out and a flag was allegedly torn from a flagpole.
Police visited a Stanmore home about 7.30pm the same day and spoke to a 27-year-old man, the registered owner of a Toyota Kluger before he was issued a court attendance notice for “not disclosing the identity of driver/passenger” and unreasonably obstructing the path of driver/pedestrian.
About 9am the following day, Police attended a Dulwich Hill home and spoke to a 37-year-old woman who was subsequently issued a court attendance notice.
The duo are due to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on February 5.
A 27-year-old woman was also arrested at Hyde Park on January 6 and was charged with larceny at Surry Hills Police Station.
The Croydon woman was granted conditional bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on Tuesday, February 13.
As inquiries continue, investigators have now released CCTV of a woman who may be able to assist with inquiries.
The woman appeared to be of Asian or South American descent, aged in her 20s, of medium build, and long dark hair.
CCTV footage showed she was wearing a camouflage print bikini top, white shorts, dark shoes and a pink headscarf.
