Fire crews and police were on scene at the Light Brigade Hotel in Woollahra after reports of a gas leak.

The gas company was also assisting on scene.

A police officer on the scene said workers in Jersey Rd had struck a gas pipe but that the repairs had finalised and that there was no threat of danger to the public.

Fire crews who had taped off the entrance to Jersey Rd are now opening the street back up to pedestrians and will eventually allow vehicles through.
