Man flees two-car crash in Bondi, leaving his Suburu at the scene
Police are currently searching the eastern suburbs for a male driver who fled the scene in Bondi after crashing head-on with a Mercedes, causing traffic chaos and leaving a woman seriously injured.

A manhunt is under way after a male driver fled the scene of a head-on crash in Bondi that has left a woman seriously injured.
Police are appealing for public assistance to locate the driver, whose car remains on Old South Head Rd, where the crash occurred.

About 3.30pm this afternoon, a Subaru Liberty and a Mercedes SUV collided head-on.
The male driver of the Suburu, aged in about his 40s, fled the scene on foot.
He is described as caucasian, of solid build, with short dark coloured hair, and an unshaven complexion.
The 46-year-old female driver of the Mercedes was taken to St Vincent’s Hopsital in a stable condition, but left the scene with serious injuries.
Old South Head Rd is now closed both ways between Penkivil St and O'Brien St. Continue to follow local diversions and allow extra travel time.

The Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are currently on the scene conducting inquiries.
The road is closed in both directions and police are directing traffic.
