Two young women have fronted court for allegedly supplying cocaine in Sydney’s eastern suburbs following a crackdown by police in the lead-up to Christmas.

Two young women have fronted court for allegedly supplying cocaine in Sydney’s eastern suburbs following a police crackdown on drug supply.
Madison Gaywood, 20, from Bexley North, and Tahlia Mancini, 18, from Kirrawee, were among 77 people arrested and charged with supplying drugs during a large police operation in the lead-up to Christmas in Sydney.
Police will allege Gaywood and Mancini were stopped by police in a Holden Astra in Waverley on the night of November 13.
Police will allege they found 2g of cocaine and $1650 in cash in their possession.
They have both been charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug, relating to over 3g of cocaine, and one count of deal with proceeds of crime.
A third person, a 29-year-old man, was also found in the back seat of their vehicle and has been charged with possess prohibited drug.
Gaywood and Mancini fronted Waverley Local Court on Tuesday and sat side-by-side as their matter was briefly mentioned.
Mancini‘s lawyer asked for an adjournment until later this month while Gaywood, who was represented by legal aid, also had her matter adjourned to the same date.
No plea has been entered.
During nine nights in November and December, the large police operation targeted drug suppliers across Sydney’s central metropolitan area.
Detectives from Redfern Region Enforcement Squad were assisted by other police commands during the large operation.
