A man whose confronting arrest has become the subject of a police probe claims he was doing nothing wrong when he was tasered at close range.
The footage of the Indigenous man being tasered by a police officer during a dramatic arrest in Paddington created headlines across Australia.
Police claim Bradshaw was initially pursued for possessing stolen goods.
However, he pleaded not guilty to the offence, via his lawyer, in Central Local Court on Wednesday.
He was also charged with intimidating a police officer in the execution of duty, entering enclosed land not prescribed without lawful excuse, and resisting or hindering a police officer in the execution of duty, all of which he also pleaded not guilty.
Police will also allege the 32-year-old man was in breach of an apprehended domestic violence order.
Bradshaw also pleaded not guilty to contravening an AVO.
After the video, captured by an onlooker, emerged online, NSW Police said they would carry out an internal investigation into the police officer’s conduct.
Police allege Bradshaw had tried to punch officers as they attempted to arrest him around 1.30pm on June 22.
In the social media post, a woman who stated she was the man’s girlfriend, northern suburbs kickboxer Sivan Dovale, said he was “an innocent man and an Aboriginal. You’re going down you f****** pigs.”
The foot pursuit began when Bradshaw ran away from police while allegedly carrying a bag with stolen goods in it.
Police allege the bag contained more than 40 pharmaceutical items believed to be stolen.
He allegedly threatened to injure a police officer before trying to then punch an officer.
Bradshaw was then cornered by two police officers near a row of terraces near South Dowling St, shown in the footage.
The officers try to get him to the ground in order to arrest him, while pointing the taser at him.
“Get the f*** down on the ground now,” a NSW Police officer can be heard yelling.
The man crouches to his knees and police ask him again to get on the ground.
He places his hands on the ground and then in the air.
“If you move I will taser you,” he continues.
“I’m not going to move,” Bradshaw replies.
An officer grabs the man by the shoulder to place him down before a second officer grabs him and shocks him repeatedly with the taser.
Bradshaw screams out in pain, and yells “Why are you f***ing doing that? I’m not even fighting you.”
On July 1, Bradshaw, via his lawyer, pleaded guilty to a previous charge of drug possession.
He also faces ten further charges including two counts of intentionally choking a person without consent, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of sexual touching without consent.
He will return to Central Local Court on July 21.
