A personal trainer who hid seven bags of cocaine in a Mentos container has pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine in Bondi.
John Lee, 32, from Olympic Park, was caught with more than $12,000 in cash and 7g of coke near Bondi Beach in August.
He fronted Waverley Local Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to five charges including two counts of supply prohibited drug.
Police pulled him over about 8.30pm on Friday, August 14 while he was driving a Honda Civic on Hall St.
Police had moments earlier spotted him pick up and drop off a passenger, the agreed facts stated.
Police spoke to both the driver and passenger and Lee admitted to selling the passenger a bag of cocaine.
The agreed facts stated police searched his vehicle and found a Mentos container.
“At the base of the container was a concealed storage area containing seven bags of white powder,” the agreed facts stated.
The eight bags of cocaine – including the one sold to his passenger – were weighed at 7.4g.
Police also found more than $12,000 in cash in the car most of which was tied with rubber bands.
A phone was also seized which Lee revealed was being used to facilitate times and locations to meet “customers”, the agreed facts read.
Another small bag was found in the car with multiple blue and white tablets and checks revealed Lee was driving on an expired P2 licence.
His lawyer entered pleas of guilty on Tuesday on his behalf to all five charges including two counts of supply prohibited drug, deal with proceeds of crime, possess a prohibited drug, and drive with licence expired less than two years.
He will be sentenced in December.
Court documents revealed Lee works as a personal trainer and physiotherapist and he has no prior criminal history.
He remains on bail.
