A former trainee police officer has admitted to illegally accessing police data while on the job,
Emily Walker, 22, of Hillsdale, appeared at Waverley Local Court on Tuesday where a plea of guilty was entered to accessing or modifying restricted data held in a computer.
In a previous statement, a NSW Police spokesman said an investigation began in November 2022 following reports a probationary constable attached to a command in the central metro region had illegally accessed restricted data while undertaking their duties.
Walker was charged on April 14. She had been suspended with pay from November 2022.
A NSW Police spokesman confirmed on Tuesday Walker was no longer employed by the NSW Police Force.Police documents tendered to court outline the unauthorised access occurred between July 11 and September 26 at Waverley.
Walker is to be sentenced at Waverley Local Court on July 4.
