While Moses won’t be lacing up for the club or swapping codes any time soon, they will have a secret weapon in their coaching arsenal this weekend.

The Parramatta Eels star is putting is his money where his mouth is after a cheeky exchange over social media this week.

Sharing a few words on Instagram over poor form, Moses offered to help at training.

For Sydney CBD FC, however, it was almost too good to be true until the Eels number seven actually rocked up on Thursday night.

Captain Mark Smith said his presence would be an ace up their sleeves as they look to turn things around in the eastern suburbs league, a competition full of international players.

“The guy who does our social media came up to us and said ‘I’ve been having a chat with Mitchell Moses and he is keen’,” Smith said.

“We were all really shocked, when it got confirmed we all felt a bit of a lift.

“For an amateur team this has been a huge morale boost, hopefully with Mitch on board we can now turn things around.”

Moses, who admittedly said he never played soccer as a junior, is using the opportunity to offer any help he can as the club navigates through a turbulent patch of form.

“I’ve been through form slums in my career and they aren’t travelling too well so it’s a perfect opportunity to help them out,” he said.

“It’s just about how they react after losses, any little thing that I can take out of it too would be great.”

Moses will be away this weekend with the Eels but will be on hand for the club’s next eastern suburbs league game next weekend.
