A plastic surgeon — facing 17 charges including child sex offences — has been hit with a complaint issued to the Health Care Complaints Commission which could result in a suspension of his medical registration.
The HCCC revealed to NewsLocal the commission was currently assessing an active complaint against Double Bay Specialist plastic surgeon Dr Richard Sackelariou.

The plastic surgeon has been hit with four apprehended violence orders by NSW Police after the veteran doctor was charged with 17 offences including using a carriage services to procure someone under the age of 16 for sexual activity, cause child older than 14 and younger than 18 to do act of child prostitution, intentionally sexually touch child older than 10 and younger than 16 and have sexual intercourse with child older than ten and younger than 14.
On November 4, NewsLocal exclusively revealed the renowned plastic surgeon, with practices in Sydney and Melbourne, was arrested and charges following allegations the 68-year-old had allegedly travelled to the Newcastle region on multiple occasions to pay multiple girls between the ages of 13 and 17 to undertake sexual acts on him.
Police alleged in court the 40-year veteran surgeon, of Vaucluse travelled multiple times to Newcastle where he booked hotel rooms to perform sexual acts on the complainants.
The court heard Sackelariou allegedly used the instant messaging service Snapchat, where he contacted the children under the alias “Alexandre Oret” and groomed them, including promising payment for their meetings.
Following the initial court appearance on November 4, where he was formally refused bail, police imposed four interim apprehended domestic violence orders for the complainants’ protection against Sackelariou.
The surgeon is expected to return to Waverley Local Court on November 25 for mention on the AVO applications.
