Just realised it’s less than a month until Santa arrives? Never fear, we’ve complied the best of the restaurants in the east and inner city STILL taking bookings for Christmas Day.

After the kind of year we’ve had, no one blames you for not wanting to slave away on a festive feast.

Given that time moves in mysterious ways during a pandemic, consider this your reminder that it is LESS THAN A MONTH UNTIL CHRISTMAS.

But don’t worry, we’ve done the hard work for you and found the best of the restaurants in the inner city and east STILL taking bookings for lunch on December 25.

Highlights: A sumptuous buffet prepared by Executive Chef Daniel Simpson and his culinary team. Choose between the intimate Stillery Dining Room or Ballroom. Santa is planning a surprise visit!

FRATELLI FRESH ENTERTAINMENT QUARTER, MOORE PARK

Cost: $89 adults, $29 children under 12. Optional extra drinks package $39pp.

Highlights: A four course lunch shared the traditional Italian family style way. Guests will received a limoncello on arrival and graze on dishes including an antipasto board and prawn bucket. Mains include maple syrup and honey glazed ham leg and 12 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder. Drinks package includes Aperol spritz, espresso martini, wine, prosecco and craft beer.

Highlights: How did these guys get their hands on my Christmas list? Lobster cocktail slider, salt baked jumbo prawns in bottarga butter and crispy pancetta, chargrilled eye fillet, sticky date pudding with salted butterscotch sauce … I’ve been very good this year Santa I promise!

Highlights: Champagne on arrival followed by a four course menu. Start with the likes of seared scallops or pepper crusted hiramasa kingfish before moving on to a lobster linguine or blue swimmer crab chilli spaghetti. Mains include wood fired scampi or Roman spiced crumbed turkey and dessert boasts almond panna cotta or caramelised milk chocolate mousse.
