The boys behind the Instagram dreamboat that is Blackwood Pantry have secured a prime new location in Bondi and another in the Sydney CBD.

Robert Lechowicz, Daniel Sorridimi and Paul Pisani will open Blackwood Bondi in the spring and Blackwood CBD in the first quarter of 2022 after spending three years scouting the locations.

The Bondi restaurant will be in the coveted ground floor tenancy of the newly completed Sevenways development on the corner of Glenayr and Warners avenues.

Meanwhile the CBD offering is to open at the iconic 255 George Street in what’s still known as NAB House despite the bank’s recent departure.

Mr Sorridimi said upon opening the two exciting new locations the brand would undergo a revamp and drop the “Pantry” from the original Cronulla cafe’s name.

The Rushcutters Bay resident, who is married to well-known eastern suburbs nutritionist Stephanie Malouf who will consult on the menus, said each restaurant would have a bespoke offering catering directly to its locality.

“In Bondi we will do what we are good at which is breakfast and lunch but then we will be branching into afternoons with say aperitivo, share style food and maybe some live music,” Mr Sorridimi said.

Blackwood Bondi will boast a sizeable bar which the Sydney bar sensations behind Maybe Sammy will act as consultants on to curate the cocktail and craft beer lists.

The fit-out is designed by architects Richards Stanisisch who promise the $400,000 finished store will impress the eastern suburbs crowd.

“We combined the relaxed qualities of texture and colour with the imperfection of hand painted ceramics to inject the fresh and easy going personality of Blackwood into the unique sunlit corner site on Glenayr Ave,” they said.

Bondi will have a grab and go section for takeaway, indoor seating for almost 70 and outdoor for another 40.

Meanwhile the CBD site will also have a grab and go option for busy city goers, a cafe and beer garden for those who want to unwind after work.

“It’s super exciting for us because we are starting to evolve from the local suburban cafe which we are in Cronulla,” Mr Sorridimi said.

The original Blackwood Pantry is a prominent fixture of Cronulla’s dining scene, doling out Insta-perfect brunches and coffee from the Surf Ln laneway.

The team has created an essential dining destination for locals and food tourists alike, with brunch options including a miso avocado toast and truffled chilli scrambled eggs.

One of Australia’s most high profile YouTubers, fitness influencer Sarah’s Day, is a frequent patron and has a dish on the menu named after her.

For $26, the Sarah‘s Day Nourish Bowl contains grilled chicken breast skewers, mizuna and snow pea sprouts with tahini & honey mustard dressing, sauteed quinoa, cinnamon roasted sweet potato, beetroot hummus, avocado and paleo seed granola.

After brunch hours you can enjoy a long lunch or afternoon snack which can be accompanied by a range of craft beers, Australian wines and cocktails such as the Blackwood Signature, containing Big River Dry Gin, grapefruit, juniper berry, rosemary and Fever Tree tonic.
