A respected real estate agent with Ray White has been slammed for driving under the influence of alcohol after he consumed several drinks in quick succession on a Wednesday evening pub session.
Angus Howard Gorrie, 33, was charged with driving with a mid-range PCA at Waverley Local Court on Thursday July 21.
The property director appeared at court and pleaded guilty to the charge.
According to police facts tendered to Waverley Local Court, at around 11.30pm on Wednesday June 8, Gorrie was stopped for a random breath test while driving his white Mercedes west on Brandon St in the beachside suburb of Clovelly.
When Gorrie was stopped police noticed his breath smelled of liquor, the facts said, and the breath test returned a positive result.
Gorrie was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station, the facts said.
At the station the eastern suburbs realtor admitted to drinking a beer and two tequila shots between 11pm and 11.30pm at the Coogee Bay Hotel before getting in his car.
The eastern suburbs man submitted to breath analysis which returned a reading of 0.107g of alcohol in 210L of breath.
Police said they were of the opinion Gorrie was moderately affected by intoxicating liquor at the time of address.
Gorrie is the Director at Ray White Eastern Beaches, an estate agency servicing the affluent eastern beaches, including the suburbs of Bondi, Bronte, Randwick and Coogee.
Earlier this year data revealed he sold the most property in Randwick of any agent over the past 12 months.
The longtime property professional - he has clocked over 14 years in Sydney’s high stakes property industry - Gorrie spent almost nine years with McGrath before ascending to his current position.
Magistrate Ross Hudson convicted Gorrie of driving with mid-range PCA and fined him $650.
Gorrie has been disqualified from holding a driver’s licence for three months, and must hold an interlock driver licence for 12 months.
