They have talked about and sweated on their teams fortunes all season but no sport fan woke up happier today than Sydney Roosters followers.
While the controversial nature of the win will be a hot topic of discussion for months to come, the Roosters faithful and players have been celebrating the season decider with gusto.

There was further good news for the club and fans on Monday morning with Boyd Cordner to captain a Kangaroos squad which also boasts teammates Luke Keary, Latrell Mitchell and James Tedesco.
The Kangaroos squad, which also boasts six debutants, will play New Zealand on October 25 at WIN Stadium in Wollongong and Tonga at Eden Park on November 2.
Thousands of the Roosters loyal made the trek to ANZ stadium to watch the sellout match between the Roosters and Canberra Raiders on Sunday.
Other congregated at local watering holes and clubs to cheer on their side as they claimed back-to-back premierships with their 14-8 win over Ricky Stuart’s Raiders.
But while the game went their way there were some tense moments with the Roosters just ahead at 8-6 at halftime.
The victory saw the Roosters become the first team in 26 years to win back-to-back NRL titles.
The last side to achieve this feat in a unified competition were the Brisbane Broncos in 1992-1993.
The grand final victory also sent Cooper Cronk out a winner in front of a full house of 82,922.
