A 39-year-old Gobbagombalin man has fronted Wagga Local Court after he was charged over a fatal crash in the state’s Riverina region earlier this year.

Shermil Abdul Latheef Jameela, 39, is facing one count of negligent driving occasioning death and one charge of dangerous driving occasioning death.

Mr Jameela’s lawyer Zac Tankard appeared before the court on his client’s behalf on Thursday stating his client has not yet entered a plea.

Mr Jameela is charged with negligent driving on Olympic Highway near The Rock, when his vehicle impacted with a motorcycle, killing Craig Jackson.

Emergency services were called to the scene on June 14 about 7.15pm after reports a white Toyota had allegedly lost control and collided with a motorcycle.
Officers from Riverina Police District attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics and found a motorcycle rider critically injured.

Despite CPR efforts, the man died at the scene.
Mr Jameela was the driver of the white Toyota and suffered minor injuries.

He was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established with specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attending to examine the scene.
The Gobbagombalin man is on bail and has had his licence suspended. He will appear back before Wagga Local Court on February 16 where he is expected to enter a plea.
