Kimo Estate

Located on a working 7000 acre farm, Kimo Estate offers three eco-huts set high on a hilltop overlooking the Murrumbidgee River flats and out to the mountains.

Totally off-grid, this is a glamping experience combining luxury and style, with amazing 360 degree views over the surrounding farmlands in Kimo Valley.

The glamping huts are perfect for couples, or can even cater to up to eight people in the shearers’ Quarters which offers a communal kitchen and mess hall.

Kimo Estate offers the perfect location for weekends away from Canberra and Wagga, and a lovely place from which to explore the area.

Only a short 10 minute drive from Gundagai, Kimo Estate offers those who are looking for very quiet, perfect nights rest before driving on to Sydney or Melbourne the following day.

Unyoked are tiny, eco-friendly cabins towed into wilderness areas customers have to walk to in order to access.

Unyoked is a small eco-friendly start-up offering a collection of hidden tiny homes peppered throughout NSW.

Offering more than 18 individual cabins in the Greater Sydney region alone, unyoked is all about ‘unplugging’ from the city, concrete building and technology.

Unyoked also offers a range of ‘off-the-grid’ cabins across NSW, including in the Byron Hinterland, Pokolbin, Northern Rivers, Southern Highlands and in the hinterlands of Kiama.

The tiny cabins are built from local, sustainable materials and are designed to be completely off-grid.

The cabins each come with the modern luxuries of a fire-pit heated bathtub, cosy beds and neat little kitchens, but the main attraction is their locations, surrounded by panoramic landscapes of forest jungles and flowing rivers, they offer a sense of tranquil peace that can’t be found in the concrete jungle of regional cities and towns.

Surrounded by incredible rolling hills and breathtaking views, Sierra Escape is an award-winning luxury glamping experience located just a 20-minute drive from Mudgee.

Sierra Escape provides an opportunity to immerse yourself within country NSW.

It is situated over 280 acres of farmland that is home to many kinds of Australian wildlife, including kangaroos, birds and wombats.

At Sierra you can opt to heat up in the luxurious bath, roast marshmallows by the open fireplace and watch the sun set from your private deck.

Paperbark Camp

Located only 2.5hrs south of Sydney in the stunning Jervis Bay, Paperbark Camp offers large canvas safari-style tents hidden between huge eucalyptus and paperbarks.

The site offers 12 tents which are built above the ground to give privacy and to capture the sea breeze.

Jervis Bay boasts three national parks - The Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay National Park and Jervis Bay Marine Park - which together include kilometres of walking trails and deserted beaches to explore.

The camp also has a restaurant, library on site and you can hire canoes, kayaks and bikes to explore the local area.

Hillview Farmstay

Hillview Farmstay is set on just under 1000 acres of rolling hills and natural bush land located 48km east of Wagga.

The farm overs five cottages available to rent and has two glamping tents.

Hillviews’ aim is to provide guests with an authentic farm experience, where they can interact with the local farm animals and assist staff in feeding and grooming of the cows, chickens, alpacas, miniature horses, sheep and goats.

The farmstay also allows guests to bring their pets and offers 8-12 acres of exclusive fully-fenced paddock for guests’ horses to run wild.

Currajong Retreat

This safari-style tent is located on a rareproperty, located on the far south coast of NSW, near Victoria

An expansive night sky ablaze with stars is best seen while bathing in the steaming waters of a luxurious outdoor tub.

Currajong Retreat offers expansive wooden decks, which overlook the Towamba River Valley and farmlands, perfect for sitting and enjoying the surrounding nature.

The property is completely ‘off the grid’ and uses natural water sources and solar power with limited gas for energy needs.

The retreat’s resident Angora goats, are raised using holistic farming practices and are welcoming to a pat or ‘hang out.’

Zoofari Lodge

Taronga Zoo offers an African safari-style experience at its Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo.

Opened in 1977, the zoo offers large animals such as elephants and antelopes with more space boreded by concealed moats to separate the animals from each other and visitors instead of fences.

Luxury stays in the Zoofari Lodge offers an unrivalled in-zoo safari experience with accommodation in a prime viewing spot of the animals.

Packages are offered which is inclusive of meals, accommodation, exclusive tours, two-day zoo entry and bike hire.

Moonbah Hut

Tucked away in the Snowy Mountains on a private lake, 100m from Moonbah River, Moonbah Huts accommodation offer a secluded getaway that is perfect for either summer or winter escapes.

Guests are invited to explore the Snowy Mountains region including the towns of Jindabyne, Thredbo and the Kosciuszko National Park.

At Moonbah, guests can enjoy some of most spectacular scenery in Australia by taking a leisurely stroll or a wild ride up through the valleys, the region has something for everyone.

Owner of Moonbah, Brett Anthony Smith, said tourists keep flocking to Moonbah due to the serenity”.

“The peace and quiet here attracts people that just want to completely get away, especially snowboarders and skiers who want to wind down away from the bustle of the ski resorts,” Mr Smith said.

“You can switch off here and escape all the devices, as there is no service or internet available, it’s a luxurious cabin that is very relaxing and it’s a chance for people to reset, or build a snowman if they come during winter.

“I built the huts about 20 years ago, and the materials came from old huts in the mountains that were pulled down in the ’70s,” Mr Smith said.

Mr Smith said his inspiration behind building the huts was the impact from watching his favourite movie as a kid, Grizzly Adams, a story of a man who lived in the mountains in a hut.

On the property, the private lake holds brown, rainbow and brook trout that you can fish.

The property offers two huts, both waterfront with large open plan fireplaces and under floor heating.

The lake hut sleeps a maximum of four people, and the river hut sleeps a maximum of five persons.
