Thirlmere: Man charged over alleged armed robbery of pharmacy

A man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery of a southwest Sydney pharmacy. Here’s what we know.

A 29-year-old man has been charged in relation to an alleged armed robbery in Sydney’s southwest.

Police will allege the man threatened staff members with a knife before taking items from the store and fleeing.

Police were called to the pharmacy just before 1pm on February 24.

After a series of inquiries, officers were able to locate the sedan the man was reported to be driving when fleeing the scene at Onslow Oval in Camden on February 25.

Soon after the car was found, it was reported as a stolen car by the 29-year-old owner of the vehicle - leading to his arrest by Camden Police.

He was charged for robbery while armed with an offensive weapon and taken to Narellan Police station.

The man was refused bail on Sunday and will appear before Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday April 24.
