Hayden Stirling faces fresh charges over alleged Riverina drug ring

One of 12 people charged after police pounced on numerous homes across Wagga over an alleged drug syndicate is now facing more charges while being remanded in custody.

One of 12 people charged over an alleged Riverina drug ring after police raided numerous homes now faces additional charges and has been kept in custody.

Hayden Benjamin Stirling, 24, appeared via video link in Wagga Local Court on Wednesday after pleading not guilty on February 12 to four counts supplying prohibited drugs.

Two of the charges were for indictable amounts and the remaining being small quantities.

The Tolland man also pleaded not guilty to participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity.

He now faces another count of supplying an indictable amount of a prohibited drug and supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

He has also been charged with recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime.

Mr Stirling has not pleaded to these fresh charges.

Bail was not applied for and was formally refused.

The court previously heard that Stirling was serving an intensive corrections order at the time of the latest alleged offences.

In February, police pounced on homes in Kooringal, North Wagga and Mount Austin where they seized MDMA, amphetamines, cocaine, more than $10,000 and two cars.

Eleven co-defendants are before the courts with four of them having admitted to their offences.

In court on Wednesday, solicitor John Weir represented Stirling while Jacqui Brown appeared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Stirling is scheduled to appear before magistrate Christopher Halburd again on June 3.
