The 23-year-old Temora man who died in a car crash on Thursday night has been remembered by his family as “well loved by the community” and someone who always had a smile on his face.

Bronson Block was driving a Mitsubishi Triton along Moroneys Lane in Temora when it left the unsealed road before hitting a tree.

Emergency services were called about 9.25pm and found Mr Block had died at the scene.

Bronson’s father, Ross Block, said his son was “a very likeable kid who was just unreal”.

“He’d do anything for anyone and he was a very hard worker,” Ross said.

“He was also very easy to get along with.”

Ross said he and the close-knit community have not stopped talking about the incident, but said they were trying to focus on celebrating Bronson’s life.

“That's all we've done these past couple of days — to just keep talking about him because he was well loved by the community,” he said.

Ross said he continues to receive calls from people saying how much they miss him.

“Just everyone. The town’s suffering from a great loss,” he said.

Bronson was born in Canowindra, about 60km southeast of Orange, and had lived in Temora most of his life.

He had been working in the construction industry for about the past four years and played Australian rules football for the Temora Kangaroos.

During the incident on Thursday night, a 19-year-old male passenger, also from Temora, escaped major injuries.

“I’ve been out to twice to see him — he's up and about. I told him to keep his chin up because it’s not a very nice thing to go through,” Ross said.

Nathan Block, a first cousin of Bronson, said he remembered the 23-year-old as someone full of energy.

“He was a larrikin, always having a go,” Nathan said.

“A good bloke who was always smiling.”

Temora mayor Rick Firman, who went to high school with Bronson’s mother, said the death has devastated the community.

“Many of us knew the young fellow. Tragic and sickening is how we all feel,” Cr Firman said.

“Our thoughts, prayers and love goes to the family of the deceased and the survivor.”

Cr Firman said he and the rest of the community would do all they can for the families involved.

“We'll be here for them. Everyone will have their own reflection. It’s sad.”

In a statement, the Temora Kangroos said they were shocked and saddened by the death.

“He was a club man, friend and great supporter,” the statement reads.

“Bronson’s family have been apart of the Roos’ family for over 50 years. Three generations all playing football and netball for our club.”

The statement also said Bronson wore his heart on his sleeve and that he was always first to arrive “with a big smile” to training and games.

“He will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.”

Speaking at a media conference yesterday, Police Inspector Adrian Telfer said: “It’s a terrible accident and it has far-reaching effects on the community at Temora”.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
