William Costellia-Kamm: Pedophile cult leader the ‘Little Pebble’ denied bail for social media grooming charges

The disgraced self-proclaimed leader of the ‘Order of Saint Charbel’ has had a bail application squashed as he faces further disturbing charges. Read what happened in the Supreme Court.

The "Little Pebble" Cult

The pedophile leader of a South Coast cult has had his another application for bail thrown out in the NSW Supreme Court on Wednesday.

William Costellia-Kamm, who is more broadly known as the ‘Little Pebble’, will remain behind bars after allegedly contacting teenage girls on social media last year which was in breach of a supervision order.

The disgraced self-proclaimed leader of the ‘Order of Saint Charbel’, a cult based on a fenced-off property at West Cambewarra near Nowra, has served two spells in jail for the aggravated sexual assault of teenage girls.

The 71-year-old stands charged with four counts of failing to comply with a supervision order with the alleged offending occurring via his wife’s Facebook account, which police gained access to through an iPad seized during an inspection of his residence.

Police allege in one of the charges Costellia-Kamm contacted a girl from the Philippines, while in another he penned a handwritten letter before photographing it and sending it to a woman using Facebook Messenger.

“My beloved daughter Pearl, of my sacred heart,” the letter allegedly read.

“I have chosen you as one of the 12 wives of Little Abraham who will soon be Peter The Second of the Holy Mother Church.

“You are very special and will soon receive your first child to prepare you for your role as mother and Queen.”

Wednesday was the second time Costellia-Kamm’s bail application for this set of alleged offending has been dismissed with Justice Stephen Rothman stating in February that the allegations “fit directly” with the accused’s previous crimes.

“If, as is alleged, (the letter) was written by the applicant, it shows that the applicant is continuing to groom and or involve people in a religious sect which, on its face, one could infer, involves sexual conduct,” Justice Rothman said.

“That is, ‘I’m sending you a son’.”

The pink-faced Costellia-Kamm’s solicitor argued his “performance while on parole had been relatively satisfactory” and that delays finding a sentencing date could “stretch his time in prison where he would have served most of, if not more than, the sentence he would be likely to receive”.

Justice Christine Adamson rejected this argument, siding with the previous decision on Justice Rothman.

Costellia-Kamm’s matter will be mentioned in the Supreme Court on June 29 where a hearing date will be set.
