Only a couple of minutes south of beautiful Berry, True Colours is a gorgeous tiny home that would be ideal for a laid-back getaway.

The tiny home is located on a five-acre property with horses, dogs, chickens and a cat, while guests will also be kept company by an array of native birds.

The airconditioned 14sq m space features a queen-size bed, an ensuite and a tidy kitchenette.

Guests can explore the unique stores and eateries in Berry or hop in the car and within 15 minutes they’ll be at the stunning Seven Mile Beach.

The Stables is set on an orchard in Croobyar, which is only a short drive from the holiday hot spots of Milton, Mollymook and Ulladulla.

The Stables is a bright and airy room with a queen-sized bed, ensuite bathroom and kitchenette.

Guests are free to wander around the gardens and orchard and delight in picking fruit straight from the tree or collect freshly laid eggs from the chickens which are free to roam the property.

Nestled between Saddleback Mountain and the Barren Grounds is the secluded Tiny House at Foxground.

The tiny home sits in a corner of an 80-acre property which is surrounded by walking trails where guests are likely to run into the local kangaroos and lyrebirds.

This Airbnb offers all of the tiny home necessities as well as a spacious outdoor deck to enjoy the organic free range bacon and eggs which are compliments of the host.

“What an absolutely spectacular place to stay,” one reviewer said.

“Incredibly thoughtful touches by the hosts including their own wine, and a spectacular hiking ground.

“This tiny home was a wonderful retreat for nature lovers and certainly a place we will revisit.”

Tranquility – Foxground

A passion project turned into a terrific tiny home that’s fitting of its name – Tranquility.

The minimalist tiny home is nestled on the edge of the Barren Grounds and provides guests with the opportunity to zone out in the rainforest.

Guests can enjoy a stunning view from the deck or step down and warm up around the fire pit.

The Yurt
is a charming tiny home at Jaspers Brush, around halfway between Berry and Bomaderry.

There is nothing quite like this Mongolian-inspired circular structure which is advertised as being ideal for a romantic getaway.

The tiny home is completely self contained and features a deck that looks over a small dam which offers gorgeous views at sunset.

“The Yurt with a view was the perfect quiet, peaceful long weekend getaway location,” read one of the reviews.

“A beautiful setting among a rural and natural landscape with the background soundtrack of birds, frogs and the occasional moo from the cows in the next paddock.”

Banksia – Kangaroo Valley

The luxurious Banksia tiny home is on a chicken farm a short drive from the delightful village of Kangaroo Valley.

The dam on the site is the centrepiece with the tiny home built over the water to give guests the feeling they’re sleeping on it.

The tiny home exhibits a glorious wooden exterior and interior which gives off a modern, yet earthy vibe.

There are plenty of features outside the four walls including an outdoor bath and shower, a barbecue and a fire pit.

One five-star review described it as a “Fantastic location, tranquil, peaceful and ideal break from city hustle and bustle”.

About 20 minutes south of Ulladulla you‘ll find the Koala Rest stunningly perched opposite Pigeon House Mountain.

This off-the-grid tiny home offers everyone one could need for a weekend escape with the design emphasising the outdoors with massive windows showing off the view.

When guests aren’t relaxing by the fire pit, there are plenty of walking trails in the surrounding Morton and Meroo National Parks.

One reviewer described Koala Rest as “magical” adding ”Just what we needed! Away from everyone in nature. We were blessed to have sun during the day and stars at night with a fire pit on”.

Iron Bark – Morton

Iron Bark is in a similar location to Koala Rest and it’s indeed managed by the same company in Tiny Rentals.

The queen-sized bed looks directly through a large window which frames Pigeon House Mountain for an image that could hang in any art gallery in the country.

“Great tiny house with an exceptional view,” said one guest.

“Highly recommended, within easy distance of Milton and Mollymook but still has a wonderful sense of escape/remoteness!”

Soul Wood – Termeil

Soul Wood is a luxury tiny home tucked away in the wilderness near Termeil which is around halfway between Milton and Batemans Bay.

Soul Wood manager Jaime Reid said the location is one of the killer features of this South Coast escape.

“The location is quite unique,” she said.

“You’re in the middle of the beautiful, wild nature, but you can also pop up two minutes from Bailey Point, a short drive from Milton, Morton National Park and Pigeon House Mountain.

Ms Reid said the deck, complete with outdoor bath, was one of the most popular features of the 4.95-rated Soul Wood.

The Boat Shed – Worrowing Heights

The Boat Shed in Worrowing Heights is tucked between Sanctuary Point and Vincentia and only a couple minutes drive from one of Australia’s most famous strips of sand, Hyams Beach.

This bush-to-coast retreat is a studio cabin built from recycled materials and reclaimed beach times, however, there isn’t any sign that this is something second hand.

The tiny home is equipped with a queen-sized bed, kitchenette, bathroom and, the pièce de résistance – the private balcony lofted over the water.

“This place exceeded expectations,” said one of many five-star reviewers.

“It was such an amazing vibe for a little getaway and such a perfect stay for two. We loved staying on the lake and especially being able to see the beautiful wildlife. Can’t wait to come back again!”

There are, in fact, three near-identical cabin tiny homes under “The Boat Shed” banner, with each cabin spread about 50m apart.

The Wilderness Hut shares many of the design cues at The Boat Shed, which makes sense as both are managed by Worrowing Jervis Bay.

The upcycled self-contained cabin provides guests with spectacular bushland views with wildlife sure to join guests while they let time pass by on the deck.

“It was absolutely beautiful and serene,” read one of more than 200 five-star reviews.

“You wake up to a lovely view and if you’re lucky, you get to see kangaroos enjoying their breakfast.”
