A man accused of supplying a gun allegedly used in three terrifying public shootings on the South Coast has been charged while in custody at Long Bay Correctional Centre.

A South Coast man, who police allege supplied a gun used in three terrifying public shootings last year, has been charged while in custody.
Skye Michael Rixon, 27, was charged while in custody at Long Bay Correctional Centre, with one count of participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and three counts of supply firearm to person unauthorised to possess it on Tuesday, after a lengthy investigation by the State Crime Command.
Police will allege Rixon was involved in the supply of firearms – including a gun used in three separate shootings at Batehaven, Nelligen and Batemans Bay last year.
Detectives from South Coast Police District started inital inquiries into the incidents, which are being treated as targeted and linked, before detectives from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad took over the investigation under Strike Force Essendene.
So far during the investigation, strike force detectives have charged nine other people from the South Coast.
Rixon appeared at Wollongong Local Court via AVL from Long Bay Jail on Tuesday afternoon, where he did not apply for bail.
Magistrate Mark Douglass formally refused bail and adjourned the case until May 18 at Batemans Bay Local Court.
