A multimillion-dollar subdivision and unit development have been flagged for a NSW south coast suburb.

The Batemans Bay suburb of Surfside could see a $4m subdivision and unit development constructed, after plans were submitted to Eurobodalla Council.

The development application (DA), proposed by Pmando Holdings, showcases six “modern” units constructed at a vacant block on 5A Palana St.

Plans say the development will provide a great range of housing choice to the growing suburb.

It says the development aims to address a number of objectives, including strengthening the local area with more housing, providing modern homes for newcomers to the region, providing a greater range of housing choices to address the needs of various life cycle stages and socio-economic categories and stimulating economic and community development.

The vacant block at Surfside would be subdivided to make way for the six units.

“The site is located in an established residential area subject to some sustained growth and development over a longer period of time as envisaged by the Eurobodalla Settlement Strategy,” planning documents state.

Documents reveal the construction would see five, two-storey buildings and one single storey building built on the vacant block, which would also be subdivided.

All six units will have three bedrooms and two carparking spaces.

“Each unit is provided with living spaces and private open space, carparking spaces, laundry and bedrooms,” planning documents state.

“Carparking is generally located on the lower ground floor with the exception of the single level unit.”

Planning documents say the final designs reflected the coastal location where they are proposed to be erected.

“The dwelling units and their built forms are considered to be contemporary designs,” documents state.

“The external finishes of the buildings have been considered so as to be reflective of the coastal location and are a mix of off white rendered and untendered light grey brick and vertical light grey and dark grey lightweight vertical cladding.

“In addition, the dwellings will have quality glazing elements to improve the amenity and external appearance of the buildings.”

The proposed $4m subdivision and unit development will remain on public exhibition on Eurobodalla Council’s website until September 20.
